A Different Tactic

Look how Bush is now trying to present himself and Cheney to the American Public!

It's Friday (finally), and it's been a heck of a week.

Not too much to report on, this evening. I feel quite sleepy and would like some coffee but am running into that problem of wondering "Won't it keep me up?"

Oh, and one last humorous thing from this strange week.

I found this raccoon hiding at a friend's house. Yes. It is a stuffed raccoon digging into a Cracker Jack box. My friend named the raccoon. His name is: Jack. Although I am generally mortified by any organic thing stuffed after its expiration, Jack did help me see that taxidermy could be art. Or something close to it.

After seeing Jack, I wouldn't mind a grizzly bear stuffed, reading a paper on a toilet.

    What I Live By:
We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. Through the unknown, unremembered gate When the last of earth left to discover Is that which was the beginning; At the source of the longest river The voice of the hidden waterfall And the children in the apple-tree Not known, because not looked for But heard, half-heard, in the stillness Between two waves of the sea. Quick now, here, now, always— A condition of complete simplicity (Costing not less than everything) And all shall be well and All manner of thing shall be well When the tongues of flame are in-folded Into the crowned knot of fire And the fire and the rose are one. -T.S. Eliot "Little Gidding"
